What exactly does one do on a date? Actually don't be too exact.

This feels a little surreal. But I think I did the right thing. I think.

It's not as uncomfortable as I thought it would be and. Akaya seemed happy, that's good. The only remaining problem is... I'm really not sure what is expected of me. I'm most certain I wouldn't be comfortable doing what Sadaharu and Fuji do Seiichi and Genichirou did couples do.

I think we're a couple though? Or something resembling that. Despite the confusion it's actually not that bad. Actually, not at all. I'm just nervous I suppose.

Is it your valentine?

Why do you wish to know, Professor? I need specifics to insure I cover the information you specifically seek.

(Reply to this) (Thread)

No it's not.

I need to know for... practical reasons.

Then who?

Practicality still has its purpose.

It's private.

I would like to know because I may be... going on a date in the near future.

(Reply to this) (Parent)(Thread)

When?

Just to consider when factoring in a suitable timetable. Would a group date be feasible? I have garnered that dates of that nature can be less stressful.

(Reply to this) (Parent)(Thread)

Eventually, soon, I think.

More definite than possibility, ne?

Group dates are something to consider. Studies show that group dates in a casual setting typically fare well due to the lessening of pressure to both parties to get to know each other at their own leisure

Yes.

I worry that the group setting would make me more anxious than if it were more private and just one on one. There's also the issue that I wouldn't know who the 'group' would consist of even if I were to consider a group date.

(Reply to this) (Parent)(Thread)

Interesting.

In my experience one-on-one interaction can be just as a cause for anxiousness as a group setting. Besides, it need not be a large group, it could be myself and my date along with you and yours.

I do not trust that-I will strangle him if he so much looks crossed eyed at-

We should make arrangements for at least one double date.

I don't think the scenario sounds very amusing or enjoyable.

Fuji-san and I have never gotten along well and neither of you get along with Akaya. I see it more as stressful and potentially disastrous more than anything.

First impressions are generally wrong

I would like to meet your friend which does not involve a tennis court setting. There has to be something positive about Kirihara Akaya for you to go on a date with him.

Likewise, you have not spent much time with Fuji to fully garner a decent gauge, I thought that you both would get along fine. I would be please if you two could be friends, at least fine acquaintances. Also, Professor, you never explained why you left early that one visit.

(Reply to this) (Parent)(Thread)

It's not that simple to change an impression

Sadaharu, I'm barely sure about what's going on between me and Akaya I don't think throwing in more variables will help any. I don't think now would be a very good time for a double date.

I have nothing against Fuji. You of all people should know how I feel about affectionate displays, on top of that it wasn't difficult for me to sense that I was most definitely not wanted there by your friend. And after four years, some months, and some days I had hoped to become reaquainted to you without more privately. I had just felt it was better that I left you two alone and visit again another time that was more convenient.

(Reply to this) (Parent)(Thread)

Only if you choose not to try

I never said that such a thing had to be immediate, though I do think it would be preferrable to happen in the near future. Figure out what you will and then we can plan from there. Is it so wrong to want to find ways to spend more time with a friend?

Was that the reason you left? I am well aware of your uncomfort with public displays, but did it not occur to you that it was not for public eyes to see. We were in the kitchen, you were in the dining room. Had I known you were to make in appearance on such a brief kiss I do not think I would have done it. If after four years, two months, and fourteen days of missing someone, you would think the more decent thing to do would be to stay around rather than turn and run away again. Fuji is a part of my life and that day I had hoped that we could all spend some time together. Forgive me for being selfish.

Furthermore, a significant other does not designate that person with all free time exclusively reserved to that person, Fuji has things that he enjoys on his own as I do mine. Friends do not come only at a convienience, Renji.

At the moment I don't feel the courage to try anything else

It would be much better if we delayed this until... sometime. It's not that I'm completely opposed to the idea, rather I'm. It's very difficult to explain my current state of mind.

It was. It might be silly but I'm afraid I can't even hug my own sister without feeling completely awkward, I'm well aware that my reaction is abnormal but that's something I've yet to school. I was ready to try to make it up to you, having someone else there scared me away. I'm intensely private, you know that. I'm sorry if you are upset with my behaviour. But you cannot deny that Fuji was happy to see me go.

I have few friends Sadaharu, the ones that spend time with me simply for the joy of my company are you and Akaya. It would be nice if friends and family don't only come at convenience but that is often the case.
